Modern, Energy-Efficient & Sustainable Prefab Homes

I grew up building lots of forts in the backyard. Each was trying something new & different. My last fort was the best, and the most different – a bike travel trailer – I used two radio flyer wagons for wheels, several 4×8 sheets of plywood and a zillion nails, this wonder of design was to be pulled by a banana seat Stingray bike. It had everything. A bunk bed, lighting, and since I was going to drive it down the road it had blinkers that were controlled from the Stingray handle bars.

I think that was it.

It’s why I got a graduate degree in architecture and worked in design focused firms. While working with the Oregon Department of Energy we implemented energy programs in factory built homes which led to developing national energy efficiency marketing and branding efforts. Through it all I developed a passion for modern design in factory built housing. I was fortunate to have 3 other forward thinking people to create and launch ideabox. Twenty years ago ideabox was cutting edge, and today the desire is even stronger to design modern structures that use less, offer more, and provide clients with their desired vision for how they want to live..

It all goes back to that bike travel trailer!

Being part of the inception of ideabox with my partner/husband Jim has been one of the highlights of my working life. I love managing the office at ideabox where I can be part of the design process and the positive client experience. I love to cook/create for friends and family, almost always followed by a good card game or escape game. It is a pleasure living near Oregon’s wine country, visiting wineries and new restaurants as often as possible. Experiencing life through our grandson’s eyes is what keeps us grounded and happy!

I am a Vietnam Veteran and former USAF air traffic controller. I’ve been in the factory built housing business for 52 years, running factories in California, Oregon, Texas, and North Carolina. I love life and am living it to the fullest, surrounded by the love of my two daughters and three granddaughters. I’m a lifelong learner who is passionate about my faith and traveling. I love reading non-fiction books, eating good food, taking photographs, and listening to music.

At ideabox, I’ve had the opportunity to use my diverse skillset to grow our social media presence and deliver great customer service.
I’m passionate about creating a friendly, welcoming experience as we help you discover the perfect home. With a strong background in retail management and merchandising, I bring a keen eye for detail and a true enthusiasm for helping people find their dream home.

ideabox allows me to work mostly from home, where I get to collaborate closely with our amazing team.

I’m also deeply committed to animal causes and love volunteering at local rescue centers, which is a source of real joy for me.

I bring my client management skills to the table and am always exploring business collaborations. I love bringing energy and enthusiasm to any situation. When I’m not working, you’ll find me cherishing every moment playing with our 2 ½ year old and enjoying quality time spent with family and friends.

After graduating with a Masters degree at Kansas State University, I traveled in the United States, China, Japan, and Europe. These experiences influenced my interest in connecting western residential construction with eastern natural philosophy. I am passionate about designing architectural spaces that blur the lines between indoors and outdoors.

I have been with ideabox since 2016, we’re about to celebrate 10 years working together!

This past year we welcomed our son and enjoy every day with him while we garden and get together with our family. Still hoping he will sleep through the night soon!
