This is an ideabox confluence with a single cube forming an "L" configuration. The design opened up the main section creating a kitchen/dining/family room anchored with a fireplace. Then we placed a bunk room, a guest bath, a laundry room, and master bedroom/bath in the cube. The "L" creates a nice outdoor room with all primary rooms opening up thru 8' tall sliding glass doors.
Starting with a confluence, this configuration uses two cubes in two directions creating a 3 BR's/2 BR's/ living room / family room / dining doom / even a laundry room. The kitchen is designed for entertaining, and the master suite is a sanctuary away from the activity of the main house. A very clever use of cubes creating a wide open modern lifestyle for an active family.
It's kind of the ultimate getaway. The ideabox cottage is perfect for an easy, simple, and lifestyle filled retreat. Then, with the easy addition of a detached cube, they add the freedom of a guest space, a work room, or in the case of this client, a sound studio.
